I never thought older people should have been prioritized. The focus should have been on those with serious comordities regardless of age. Not my long retired, perfectly healthy neighbor who got hers so she can goes for long walks just like always.

6. Are you not aware that the great majority of the dead are seniors? Also we clog up the hospitals...

...while dying horribly. If you want to look at the situation strictly from an enlightened self-interest standpoint, just think of us using up all the space and resources that might go to someone else.

Until very recently there truly was not enough, and Trump’s chaos scramble system made it infinitely worse. Now we have enough. But — just my opinion here — one of Trump’s legacies, aside from confusion, is envy. He plays everything like a zero-sum game. Don’t fall for it.

8. The seniors who die have comorbidities just many like younger people who die from Covid.

There are plenty of healthy seniors who don’t have shit to go who are getting it. But at least now they can “hug their grandchildren”. I know that must seem so mean, but if it had been based on health risk, many many seniors would still be prioritized along with others who at at high risk.

health risks? What form would they fill out for to take with you to get the vaccine? While it sounds like it makes sense to do it that way implementing that would have been an even bigger logistical nightmare than going by age.

is eligible.

And right now, in addition to over 60, lots of workers in many jobs are eligible (retail, restaurant, etc).

Everyone will be eligible 4/15 I believe. Of course, getting an appointment is still a race of fools, but at least you can try.

9. A graph from the CDC that might explain it

This is from their COVID Data Tracker. If the site doesn't go there automatically, click on the "Age" button under "Deaths" on the right side. The three highest lines are for 55-64 (pink dots), 65-79 (magenta dashes), and 80 and up (solid magenta). The other age groups barely register by comparison.

Seniors got vaccinated first because they were the ones dying from Covid-19.
