A Must Read: Gripping, Fascinating Article About Darrell Issa's Star Witness, Andrew Wood from Utah

The Mormon Plot Thickens
on October 11th, 2012 at 3:50 am from Barack's Backers Website

The House Oversight Committee held hearings yesterday on the terrorist attack in Libya that killed four Americans. One of the prime witnesses was Lt. Col. Andrew Wood, a site commander who provided security in Tripoli from February to August. The terrorist attack occurred in the city of Benghazi approximately a month after Wood left country. Wood had visited Benghazi twice. Here’s part of his statement:

"I am a member of the Utah National Guard… I currently work for the US Bureau of Reclamation as the Upper Colorado Regional Security Officer… Upon hearing of the death of Ambassador Stevens and later of the Congressional inquiry, I identified myself to my Congressional Representative’s staff as a person with intimate knowledge of the security situation prior to the attack. I was subsequently contacted and began a dialogue with staff investigators..."

It is my understanding that Mr. Wood lives in Salt Lake City and works one block away from Mormon Church headquarters at 125 South State Street. The Congressman that Mr. Wood said he contacted appears to be Republican Robert Bishop, a member of the Tea Party caucus. Bishop is a Mormon, and if these facts are correct, he would be the third Mormon Congressman involved in the Benghazi investigation, joining Idaho’s Paul Labrador and Utah’s Jason Chaffetz as outspoken critics of the U.S. State Department.

According to his statement, Wood was mobilized for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, the year when Mitt Romney asked former President George W. Bush for additional security. At this time, it has not been determined whether Mr. Wood is a member of the Church of Later Day Saints, or not.

Mr. Wood testified that “the security in Benghazi was a struggle” and additional personnel would have helped the situation. He made it clear that he was not speaking in an official capacity.

1. If "additional personnel would have helped the situation..."

Then maybe Issa, Ryan and their ilk shouldn't have cut security funding for our embassies. Surely their investigation will bear that out!

4. Surprise. It's October.

Thanks, Cha.
The full story is disturbing. The only thing more scripted and staged in Issa's October "hearing" sham was the actors like this shadowy Andrew Wood. This story is developing quickly. Please pass it along. These people all knew each other. The Romney Olympics association is eyebrow raising.

6. and what about the other guy, Eric Nordstrom?

We all know that people who serve our country don't always leave politics at home, and that it can shade their view of the world while on duty, and what they say when they get home. Has anyone researched to find out if Darrell Issa's other star witness, Eric Nordstrom, who was called a former Regional Security Officer (?) in Libya, was the same Eric Nordstrom who can be found in Ron Paul stories about supporters who raised tons of cash for Paul's presidential campaign via the internet using "moneybombs"?

7. The real "hearing" should be on the Issa hearing.

Yes. I agree. Nordstrom was too "eager" in that phony "hearing". He and this Andrew Wood seemed to know more about the staged hearing than our own Democratic Congressional Members did (who complained publicly how they were kept in the dark).

To the very valid point to raised, Oliver North would be a prime example.

This story is not going to go away.

8. The entire thing sounds almost treasonous...

Yes, they are all connected. It is obvious. The media is almost as close to treason as everyone involved this.

They need to be taken down and out.

But what will ultimately happen, that is the question.

9. The Obama/Romney next debate will be foreign affairs

As many Americans, and even the media have pointed out, it was odd how Mitt Romney ran to those microphones to attack President Obama before the public knew our Ambassador had been killed. Why was that? It was classless and polling showed the American People didn't like Romney's actions at the time.

But was it solely crass opportunism or did Romney already know something's the President didn't? Clearly Romney rushed to judgement even faster than Issa could rush these two "witnesses" to his staged "hearing" to smear President Obama. I expect this news article I posted above will have legs.

11. The title of the article is the Author's title.

DU rules state we are to post the title and source. I did

If you read my own words, I never mentioned the word "Mormon" once. And as you say, the Author correctly makes that disclaimer.

What is fascinating and more than curious is the man's professional background, his chosen avenue of "reaching out" to GOP political operatives and not the FBI first. Why was his first instincts political, so much so that he wound up as Issa's star witness in that rushed "hearing" where Democrats on that Committee were kept in the dark and complained loudly about it? That hearing was not about finding Justice, but railroaded to attempt to make President Obama look bad. Secretary Hillary Clinton and the State Department have a real investigation going on, not a showboating political exercise.

I trust Secretary Hillary Clinton more than I trust Darrell Issa. I imagine you do, too.

I felt we deserved to know whether we had been attacked on the anniversary of 9/11.

Now I begin to understand the secrecy behind the situation, with the ties to intelligence and all.

It's not a matter of who we trust...our right to know conflicts with our ability to protect our secrets.

I actually feel more confidence knowing this. Before I was beginning to think ugly thoughts about political expediency.
