Schumer: Senate will act on marijuana legalization with or without Bidenhttps://www.politico.com/news/2021/04/03/schumer-senate-marijuana-legalization-478963

Schumer has been making waves on cannabis policy since he first introduced a bill to legalize marijuana in April 2018. It was part of his pitch for voting Democrat in the 2020 election, and now with the majority in hand he is putting together new federal marijuana reform legislation with Sens. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) and Ron Wyden (D-Ore.).
This week, Schumers home state of New York legalized marijuana use for adults, after years of failed efforts. More than 40 percent of Americans now live in states that have embraced full legalization.
President Joe Biden has been a conspicuous outlier among Democrats when it comes to supporting marijuana legalization. But Schumer said Bidens reticence wont deter the Senate from taking aggressive action to loosen federal restrictions.
I want to make my arguments to him, as many other advocates will, Schumer said in an interview with POLITICO this week. But at some point we're going to move forward, period.
The legalization of states worked out remarkably well. They were a great success. The parade of [horrors] never came about, and people got more freedom. - Chuck Schumer

(24,890 posts)Delta-8 is the Hemp derived 60-70% weaker cousin to Delta-9 which is classic pot. Delta-8 is everywhere now except for a few numbskull states that banned it after the 2018 Farm Bill made all things Hemp (CBD, CBN, Delta-8, etcetera) legal.
Delta-8 creates no paranoia and gets you just not quite as high. I love it but won't marry it.
Once both are 100% legal it will be interesting to see if Delta-8 can compete. I know I'll be team Delta-8.

(13,620 posts)initiatives on the ballot. A big part of it is they know legalized weed will be one some day soon and pass. Also, we approved expanded Medicaid and they don't want something like that to happen again.
Dumbshits! I live in Lewiston, right across the Snake river from Clarkston, WA. Everyone of course goes over the their shops and they get the tax revenue. Anywhere in this state, anyone that wants to smoke weed is already doing so, and it's not very easy to get caught. Most of the weed busts are because some moron was drinking and got a DUI with his weed on him.
I have a mad scientist grower buddy in Oregon that usually takes care of me, but winter storms and a few other problems shut him down temporarily. I had to go to the legal shop for the first time. I just picked a couple ten dollar eighths and am pleased. It's not the greatest, but that's what I'm used to paying. I could get by on that just fine, but I usually go pretty light on the stuff anyway. It was really nice to just go over and grab some legally. I'd just do that from now on, but my buddy has great stuff and I like to help keep him going by buying a little of his surplus.

(10,156 posts)Like our city is really close to the New Mexico border and they just now passed like legalization so you will see a lot more people going out of state especially from this part of the state. People will take a 2 hour drive to get some and come back. Because in Texas they rather make sure that people can't vote and women are sent to death for abortions rather than actually get any type of revenue for the state.

(4,244 posts)you can imagine the Dems and Pukes circling the bacon in the middle (bacon being legal weed) and daring the other to pick it up and run with it. A feint here, a juke there, and one side will bolt with the prize. Schumer seems to have realized these nugs are gold. Bout fucking time.
