If you do not read Heather Cox Richardson daily, I recommend that you do.

We get a daily email. Today, she reviewed many stories. But what I enjoyed (much is not enjoyable) is that Matt Gaetz apparently has only two verbal supporters in Congress. They are Jim Jordan and Marjorie Taylor Green. That is all he deserves. They both have no integrity and are an embarrassment to the institution.

I cannot think of anyone who I admire in the GOP these days, but add Louis Gohmert and you have the absolute lowest of the low.

with Trump.

Not just condemn him but demand he resign and take action themselves to take power away from him.

I'm less interested in the lowlifes who are public supporting Gaetz, I want to see the people in his caucus denounce him. So far, crickets. Nobody has breathed a word against Gaetz, even though everyone in the House Republican caucus is well aware of his, uh, proclivities.

Really help me during these days of the pandemic. She also does video discussions every Tues and Thurs on FB, where she alternates between historical events that shaped where we are today, and gives insight into the situations we are in today. I really appreciate her calm presentation of the facts and wealth and depth of knowledge.

They are frequently full of misdeeds and perversions by (r)epuglicons and their attempts to steal democracy from the people. I would have a harder time sleeping if I read them at night.

That being said, even her pieces describing the horrors of that party and its substandard-bearers are always couched in terms of history and a long perspective. That eases the impact a bit.

And her husbands photographs are sweet icing on the cake. Along with some great commentary following.

(Or is she called Trailer Trash Barbee??? I can't keep them all straight)

Palin was a real "whorer" story, but she doesn't hold a candle to MTG or Boebert...)

My first and foremost read every single day is HCR................She is terse, succinct, right to the point, and very eloquent in the way she writes. I am never left with any questions after reading her article of saying: Well what about this or that.

I know many of you refuse to have Facebook accounts but I do. I use it only to ensure that someone is providing truthful news and updates--something that Facebook could use a lot more of. There are other people doing the same thing and Heather Cox Richardson is one of those people.

Not only does she post her daily newsletter on Facebook, she also provides videos and question and answer times, I believe, twice a week that I rarely listen to. If you look her up on Facebook and follow her, you can help spread the word. I "share" everything as public so anyone can see; thus, helping to educate people of the goings on.

Heather Cox Richardson is a history professor and her newsletters provide a historical perspective that is missing in the daily news. Once you start reading her newsletters, you start seeing the "how we got here" view. I simply can't recommend her enough.

breathtakingly ignorant (and reliably vocal along with) as a pairing. And I'm going to go way out on a limb to say one (perhaps both) are fast proving to be authentically stupid (meaning legitimately lacking in IQ) -- as well be remarkably shallow and uninformed. I predict that we can expect great things ....

her postings provide clear context and historical background for what is happening today.

I have a friend who is newly awakened to political events. She says that the Richardson postings help her understand things that used to confuse her such as why some politician vote and act they way they do.

Her daily emails provide historical context for modern politics.

She is fantastic! My wife has a very keen sense of equality, justice and just plain "what is right." She had an almost 30 year career as a social worker, which gives you an idea of her commitment.

That said, despite being very liberal, and very aware, she has never been very engaged with or by politics. She much preferred her social justice at a much more personal level. She found HCR and was hooked. She is still far from being as involved as most DUers, but for someone to engage her like that was remarkable, at least to me.

SO....yeah. Heather Cox Richardson is fantastic! I liken her to Carl Sagan and Neal deGrasse Tyson. What they were and are to science, she is to political science and history. A VAST knowledge, and a very direct and understandable way of educating.

And today I got the idea that she might be a DU member. I got onto the site just now to post the question to all of you- and then here was your post!

Anyway, I am glad that I can sign up for her newsletter- sounds like something I should do.

But what do you think- do you think she follows or posts in DU?
