In Dover, DE. I felt the needle this time, but just like a standard flu shot. No issues thus far....but it was only 5 hours ago.
Waited in the drive-thru event for about 30 minutes.
Thought about Trump and the hundreds of thousands of people who died b/c of his inaction and/or counterproductivity and general assholism. I hope that we, as a nation, have learned from this.

(32,748 posts)I got mine on Tuesday and my arm was sore for about 3 days. No other problems, and it sure beats getting Covid!

(2,186 posts)But I was in a Wawa near Lancaster PA yesterday and there was a group of people not wearing masks. Looked like moronic Trumpers. So idiots out there can screw it up for everyone.

(362 posts)I have stocked up on chicken broth and soda crackers just in case. Spouse and I have our second shots two days apart. One of us had Moderna, the other Pfizer.
I am more concerned about me. I received a senior flu shot once, and it leveled me for a day.

(2,186 posts)And loaded up on all my comfort foods and ginger ale in case I feel sick. I'm planning on staying in all day. Anything I accomplish will be a bonus in my book!

(5,008 posts)had a tough time. He was wearing sweats, hat and wrapped in a blanket. He was still cold and shivering. He kept groaning because his body ached. I think it lasted about 24 hrs. Then he had a headache for a bit. Three days later and he is finally 100%. Good thing because today is his birthday.

(14,275 posts)Today I have had every single side effect listed except for fever.
Headache? Check.
Fatigue? Check
Joint Pain? Check
Chills? Check.
To top it off, my stomach is extremely upset and all I have been able to hold down today have been 4 soda crackers.
If my body is reacting like this to the vaccine, it makes me wonder if I would have wound up in the hospital if I had caught the actual virus.
Get your shots, people.

(2,186 posts)Sorry you have all that--but hopefully they go away soon!
I had the flu once and after about 5 days of vomiting and exhaustion all I wanted was tater tots and scrambled eggs. So I have them on hand just in case. Those were some dark days---usually I'm a big multi-tasker, but on those days I remember thinking "Maybe I'll get up in an hour or so and go open that curtain. Then I go back to bed and rest."

on edit: I should include I was sleepy all the next day and slept a lot. But never uncomfortable with aches and chills, etc.

I hear the second is worse for people who have bad reactions, so I'll see how it is tomorrow!
Regardless---I'm very glad to have gotten it.

(43,198 posts)So far nothing major in terms of side effects. Spot of injection is slightly tender. Maybe mild fatigue--took about a half hour nap today.
Other than that, nothing. Swam 1000 yards in the pool like nothing had happened.
I will say that last night I felt...well, good. Almost like a slight buzz--the kind you get after a beer or two. Not sure if that had anything to do with the shot or if it was just a placebo effect but wasn't expecting that.

(6,414 posts)I felt fine the day of my second Moderna shot. On Day 2, I felt like crap. By day 3, I was good as new.
