In the twisted minds of the QaTrump cult

It has taken me a long time to think about this- I lost a friend to the bizarre Trump cult the first half of January this year. We are both 57 years old, and met when we were 21. Long time DUers might remember him somewhat as he played prank calls on The Guy James Show while my husband was co-hosting. The first time he called pretending to be a Republican, he fooled both of them- and I was in the back room laughing- my friend really had them worked up!

He started emailing me during the election- that he "knew about the voter fraud." He saw what was on Hunter Biden's laptop. As a librarian, I asked him for citations- links- anything. All I got were weird websites, and youtube videos of "experts talking." During the stress of the insurrection, he told me that those people were "antifa." This is a paragraph from an email explaining to me that all the votes for Biden in PA and AZ were going to be voided, and Trump WOULD remain in office:

"

He took a hard hit.... but the 100K people found dead or phantom
in AZ and the 300K people found dead of phantom in NV story has
merit. This was 800 people funded by the ex CEO of Overstock and
they did due diligence. The PA story also is holding they are
going to call for the votes to be voided as the state did not
follow constitutional procedure and violated state laws."

Shortly after this- and a week before the inauguration, he quit speaking to me for good. Wrote and said our friendship was best "left back in the 90's" ....I didn't argue, and did not respond. I have no idea how he feels about the vaccine, or how Biden is doing.

*This* next part is super personal, and I am not sure if it's even relevant to the story- but, my friend is single, and poly. His roommate is the same- and bisexual (the roommate- not my friend). She is a Q-Trumper also. I did ask at one point how they could vote for Republicans knowing they despise him, her, and their lifestyle? I was told it was about "BLM" and "Antifa."

Well, the whole thing is sad as hell. This is one of those times in life when it's very hard to let go of fun memories of youth- and walk away- but, I am a little depressed over it.

..those in the Quack movement and the insurrection. Sadly, i think your friends had just enough going on mentally/emotionally that it tipped them into nuttiness.

I have had to let go of some family members. Yes, it is hard to say good bye when you have history with them

It's terribly hard; I really believed that my friend and I would be calling each other, and hanging out to the very end. I considered him my brother that I never had.

them, and I strongly suspect that you'll be far better for doing so. Don't descend into crazy land if you don't need to.

I would have wrote back to him regarding his comment on the friendship back in the 90s (leaving it), and said 'What friendship?'. Of course, ignoring them like you did is a good thing too, but I feel like you should respond back to his ignorant comment out of the blue. You too, have a right to express your opinions and beliefs too.

Truly. If someone can't abide your friendship because of your very valid beliefs too (all along while you are respecting theirs), then they are no friends of yours, IMHO, after all, isn't that what friends are for.

One day all of this garbage nonsense about Q, QAnon, rump, etc., you name it, will come crashing down, it's just a matter of time. I am thinking that perhaps the $100 million dollars that rump stole in additional, unintentional campaign donations might do the trick. But, IMHO, I think rump is going to be nailed for other crimes (tax fraud, etc.), and other disgusting things he's done. Just wait, it's just a matter of time.

Take care, take solace in the fact that you immensely helped yourself by moving on to better pastures. There is a wide assortment of folks out there who would be pleased to have such a friend as you. My best to you and of course, good luck, be safe, and careful.

4. Oh thank you- but, I should add something. I in no way, shape or form, "respected" his beliefs

at all.

I was horrified- particularly after the incident at the Capital. I slammed every one of his "citations." Every single one, and every single time.

I was not a saint, by any stretch of the imagination.

5. I didn't think you respected anything that this cretin believed in, you are that type of person.

All of us know cretins that are exactly like these toads/trolls who came out of the woodwork, who thought that rump gave them unlimited right to express their gutter mouth opinions and such and trod on others.

I've got plenty of soap to wash out people's mouths. I stand ready to debate any of these cretins on their so called nonsense beliefs, such as Pizza Hut, babies for sale in some underground democratic cabal, etc. For the most part, I just ignore them.

Now...all we have to do now is point out matt gaetz and his 17 year old dates...one can't get anymore pathetic than this and if he did anything illegal, I hope that the powers that be nail his a&&. One can't get anymore disgusting than this sort of behavior, from a sitting representative of the Congress no less.
