Family and friends laughed and chatted, children grabbed snacks and took selfies and conversations in several languages ran simultaneously as volunteers from a coalition of Nashville organizations overcame health barriers to bring the vaccine to an often underserved population. 
Saturday marked the third of four planned mobile vaccination clinics organized with vaccines diverted from Vanderbilt University Medical Center's supply to meet people in their own community.

Leaning on existing community ties to do outreach about the vaccine, the event was vital, Abdulla said. 
Most of the appointments were set up through those community ties — emails from the school or the clinic, door-to-door visits by nursing students, even texts from patients on Saturday encouraging family and friends to get on the waitlist."...(more)
