The same one Joe Biden got. I have to wait fifteen minutes to leave the CVS where I received it.

(34,120 posts)My husband had a little light headedness and my shot site was a little sore and that was it. We too had extreme joy. We are almost 8 weeks out from our second, still masking and distancing and I am still playing our last concert with distance and masks on. Boy does it feel good to not worry even though you still do the protocols. Joyful is correct!

(10,839 posts)I took a tip from a friend who'd already had the 2nd shot and did end up sick the next day. She said the corpsman who injected her advised on lots of water after the shot. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. My friend blew the suggestion off and was pretty useless the next day--bad headache, body aches and chills.
My husband and I followed the advice. We drink water throughout the day, so we just beefed it up. We had no side effects. Not sure if that was merely coincidental but in our case it worked.
Good luck!
Btw, my husband did have side effects after his first shot, so he too was a little nervous. He's diabetic and was afraid his sugar would be whacked out again. But as I said, both of us were fine.

(34,092 posts)If you're extra special (prior anaphylactic reaction), you have to wait 30 minutes.

(34,092 posts)and somethng systemic that I'm not sure is connected.
I had migraines from age four through age 31, a brief respite while I was pregnant and nursing, and then from age 33-ish through age 54. Then they vanished when I hit menopause. (So both breaks apparently hormone-related).
About 2 weeks after the first vaccine I had a massive migraine (my first in a decade). After the second, I haven't gone more than 1 day without a migraine. I think they are finally winding down (2 wks after the second shot), but they aren't completely gone yet.)
Since I haven't had any in a decade, the timing is very suspicious. BUT - it is very odd timing for th 1st one to come 2 weeks after the first shot (a bit long for a reaction).

I got Moderna, 2nd shot 5 days ago.
She had zero symptoms from the 1st shot, and upset GI for about 90 minutes with the 2nd.
