A bunch of feckless Frankensteins are trying to pretend they have no responsibility for the monster

If we want to avoid repeating history, we must hold Republicans such as John Boehner, George W Bush and Cindy McCain to account

I can’t stress it enough: Trump was not an aberration; he was the culmination of years of Republican extremism. A bunch of feckless Frankensteins are trying to pretend they have no responsibility for the monster they created. It is time we started to hold these people to account.

For the past 2.5 generations we have had a large % of Americans bathed in total misinformation
and Trump's attempt to overthrow our government was a Fox News riot. The day of the 1/6/21
riot or the day before that sedition violence the morning blond on Fox & Friends* said, "Well a lot
of people still have questions about the election."

* I just saw F&F by random chance because I was channel surfing from MSNBC up to the weather
channel.

imo fox is the cartoon cliff notes for talk radio. the futures of both are as worm eaten as limbaugh's but dems could really speed things up by taking advantage of limbaugh's croaking. they can't replace him and 600 stations are not going to be able to charge as much now - some AI-enhanced boycotts would force some stations to change programming. the whole monopoly could fall apart if the ad industry gets smart

Believe Joe/Karmala/Nancy/Chuck will address this after dealing with more important issues.
Side benefit could be fewer conspiracy theories.

...because they are carried by cable & satellite, not broadcast.

I would support an updated Fairness Doctrine that was content specific, not distribution method specific.

I mean, I doubt that they saw Individual 1 specifically, but they had a good handle on where the Republicans were heading. This was only underscored during subsequent years. It's hard to get off the wrong road when one isn't allowed to criticize the driver.

the first month of the Reagan admin and have been screaming about the Repubs ever since. No one would listen, especially the Reagan Democrats as they called themselves....

The one thing people have to realize, is it wasn't the "Reagan Administration, any more than it was the "WBush administration".
Reagan was showing signs of dementia from before he took office, and W's brain was fried from Alcohol and Cocaine.
They were merely front men for the cabal running things from the shadows.

Both of those administrations would be better described as the "HWBush/Cheney/Rumsfeld Administrations". And they were in power for twenty years, plugging away. Then our presidency got hijacked in 2016 by Putin.........As the cartoon says: "that's all folks"

My Russian friend says that the people of Russia are laughing their asses off at how easily Putin corrupted Trump and the Republican Senators. They are also most amazed at how easily Putin brought down the U.S. and Democracy, without firing a single rocket or missile and never actually starting a war......

I know a Republican who keeps preaching:
“China must be punished.”

Success is the best revenge. Biden/Harris being successful is how we hold the past up for history to examine.

We need to look to the future. Let history deal with the past characters.

We need to face the damage done and repair it. That’s huge.

That means Limbag, Falwell, Reagan. Only Limbag lived long enough to see his shtiik get stale and his audience diminish.

The ones we need to go after are the ones 50 or younger so they don't metastatize the way they did after Nixon and Reagan skated away from their crimes. That the outfits that promote or even publish Q nonsense need to have the plug pulled goes without saying.
That rubbish has gone well beyond yelling "FIRE" in a crowded theater.

All this stuff has its roots in the rabid anticommunism in the 50s and early 60s. By the 70s, this had started to wind down a bit and, lacking an external enemy, the apparatus turned on us. We're seeing the culmination of the Cold War turned inward.
