My brother thinks he's a chicken. We would have had him committed but we needed the eggs.

Woody Allen told that joke at the end of Annie Hall and then went on to associate it with relationships, but it could also apply to the police.

We need a force in place to protect and enforce our government's enshrined values of civil rights and equality, so we need police who will do that. But just as Woody Allen's brother is not going to produce any eggs just because he pretends to be a chicken, police don't actually protect our rights and equality just because they pretend to uphold our government's values. What we need is a real chicken.
