Lost my MIL last night

Completely unexpected, it was an accident in her home.

With everything else over the last 12 months this is especially hard hitting. Just a cherry on this crap sundae

She was mean, racist and republican but she was still family and will be greatly missed.

I'm expecting things to get real in mine shortly. THE BIG NEWS! I've been the black-sheep and estranged by the rest of my FoO for nearly 30 years, but DH's MIL is in nursing care and her at home caretaker was my bro, who is very ill. Docs say he's got months and, OOT from both of us, sis is his PoA person. Suddenly, there's been some contact from the sibs, mostly apologetic and looking for ?, perhaps reconcilliation/truce/moral support with strong boundary walls...still pretty confusing in my old noggin it even happened. Sort of a "Can This Family Be Saved" moment. Proceeding w/caution...

DH = Dear Husband
FoO= family of origin
Is that right?

But OOT and PoA, I dunno

And thank you for FoO definition.

These are not terribly common abbreviations.

Please, please, please don't assume we know all of your typing shortcuts.

I know what you're saying about dealing with GQP supporters, but as you say they are still family.

Make sure you and yours take care of each other...this is a difficult time no matter the politics.

You are a very forbearing and accepting person. I hope this resolves quickly and as painlessly as possible for you.
