If the Republicans in Congress weren't such fucking psychos, I'm sure that we could stand them

Working with moderate Republicans, who are safe, sane, consensual and reasonable is not all that bad a deal for like minded Democrats.

If it were that way, politics wouldn't be as broken as it is in this country. Although it's of supreme importance to reelect President Obama, as opposed to letting a Romney/Ryan administration take off, it's just as important to replace the hyper-partisan right wing members of the US Congress with people who can easily pass a psychiatric examination.

Eventually, the Republicans should get the message that moving to the right of Attila The Hun was poorly thunked up idea for the overall and long term direction of their party. The result of zealotry biting them in their collective Posterior Gluteus Maximus would render a nice payday for their folly with the losses of some of their most irrational members.

The main problem is that these ideologues have been hiding themselves in the recesses of the backbench. Shedding a light on them exemplifies the old adage of sunlight being the best disinfectant. They should thank us for helping to clean their ranks of these right wing malcontents. As the GOP moves further to the right to satiate their blood lust, the more marginalized the party will become.

Turning America into a one party state serves neither the Democrats or the Republicans in the long run. The last thing that we as Democrats should want is having to seat Right Wing Democrats in the areas of the country that would never elect liberal Democrats under any circumstance. These places deserve the appropriate representation that properly reflect their own values and what not.

What's important is that these people should be at least sane and would value what's best for the country, rather than serving their own destructively partisan desires.

So, since the Republicans themselves are unable to excise their most poisonous members in government, it's up to us to give them a helping hand.

Yes, they'll resist our assistance in every way, they are zealots after all, they can't see and farther than their own noses. But alas, once they begin seeing the benefit of regaining their senses and appealing the general public, they'll understand the wisdom of helping them prune their unruly brushes.

After all, we're doing this for America, right?

1. "Moderate Republicans"

are very happy to have the rabid Teabag element voting on their side. They embraced the devil awhile ago.

Anyone who calls themselves a Republican (never mind how moderate) these days, has aided and abetted the growth of the Teabag Taliban.

So I have a hard time seeing the difference. Those who were at one time --"safe, sane, consensual, and reasonable"-- have left the Rethug party.

I'm saying that it's up to us to help them realize the need for supporting non-psycho Republicans by targeting and removing the nut jobs and replacing them with Democrats.

If they don't want to become a permanent minority party, they need to give up the crazies and pull in some reasonable ones instead.

--the Democrats will have to lead the way.

I think the Republican Brand is too far gone--might as well call it the Koch party.
