Don't forget, Russia supplies power to the EU in the form of natural gas.

Russia has the EU by the you know whats...

The EU member States will always be careful not to piss off the Russians too much.

The Central European countries don't care as much. From Estonia down through Poland and through Czech and Hungary, there are STILL strong anti-Communist feelings.

Fact: Estonia is the last country in the world that has a State sanctioned memorial service to not only Nazis, but to SS soldiers who fought Russia. As of a few years ago, they still had SS veterans march in the parade in WW2 unis.

Russians are VERY unpopular in the FSU nations while they have good relations with Germany, France, etc.
