Is the city of Chicago safer because he was prevented from fleeing?
No, it was not and no, it is not.

(2,832 posts)Of course it's worth investigating.
But, to me, "investigating" does not mean, "shooting the person under investigation."

(54,770 posts)I think police had to pursue. Not endorsing shooting him thoug and hope we pursue things that help prevent this in future.

(40,212 posts)That was why police were called on a shots fired call.
I think everyone needs to step back and get all the information before coming to conclusions.

(2,832 posts)Is there a cop you recall who shot an unarmed person who did not "believe" there was a gun pointed at him?
The whole point of all these unjustified shootings is that cops ALWAYS believe there's a gun pointed at them.
So what's your point?

(2,832 posts)"Based on the video from the shooting officer, it was not clear if Toledo was holding a gun at the moment he was shot. An attorney for the Toledo family said the video showed Adam did not have a gun at the moment the officer fired the fatal shot, NBC Chicago reports."

(2,358 posts)Toledo had a gun until the cop ordered him to show his hands. Then he ditched the gun behind the fence and put his empty hands up. Where exactly did the cop see the gun pointed at him?
Edit: Toledo actually complied with the cop's command to show his hands, and got shot for it.
