Does this make sense?

The senate and the house are divided probably beyond repair. Shouldn't whoever is representing us vote for legislation based upon the will of his/her constituents? With the answer being yes, I think there should be a vote by the people at the next national election, to require that members of the house and senate poll their constituents, make the polling public so it is believable, and then vote according to how their constituents want them to vote. This would require constant polling by Congress, but at least there is a chance that something could get done. This would also work for impeachments.

This would eliminate the stupid bipartisan "no" votes just because the bill was introduced by a member of the opposite party. If people want a tax increase for the wealthy and corporations based upon polling then that is how Congress should vote. This should not be a Cruz, Paul, Hawley, Boebert, Greene weird , McTurtle excuse for voting the opposite of their constituents. We pay these people too much to allow them the opportunity to go against our wishes.

when 1 party does everything in its power does everything to make the party in power fail, does everything in its power to hurt the American people, to hurt the country, and then when elections roll around they can blame the Democrats who they obstructed.

This is why we need to end the filibuster and add 4 justices to the Supreme Court.

I like your opinion. I do not believe, though, that our system of voting and government allows that to happen. The filibuster is nonsensical, so we agree on ending that. It only provides more obstruction to some very good plans for our country. Adding Justices to the Supreme Court will "even" out the decades old Repug majority on the bench, but just getting things accomplished should be our goal. If the people want the filibuster, additions to the Supreme Court, tax increases for those in the upper class, then so be it. Polling constituents to find out what they want should be important to every congress person.

The will of the people is being ignored under our current system of governing and voting. That has to change.
