Scientists have long said that giving people a single course of a Covid-19 vaccine might not be sufficient in the long term, and that booster shots and even annual vaccinations might prove necessary.
In recent days, that proposition has begun to sound less hypothetical.
Vaccine makers are getting a jump-start on possible new rounds of shots, although they sound more certain of the need for boosters than independent scientists have.
Pfizers chief executive Albert Bourla said on Thursday that a third dose of the companys Covid-19 vaccine was likely to be needed within a year of the initial two-dose inoculation followed by annual vaccinations.

(12,480 posts)Is less crazy and competitive,so you can just go to a pharmacy and get a shot.
None of this apply and apply and apply hoping to get an appointment crap. It was very difficult for me trying to arrange the apointment get transportation to where I got my shots.
I have disabilities and my anxiety was off the charts with it. If I didn't get the net in November before the pandemic hit ,I have no idea how I would have even applied to get an appointment.
I hope the boosters released faster and the shots given in more places. Where people who can't drive or who don't have the web can get the boosters without so much competition and stress. Vaccinate people with health factors that increase the dancers of covid and the disabled and poor first.
Richie's go last.

I hope we're not always behind schedule for new boosters because the anti-mask, anti-vax jerks constantly incubate new variants!

(17,180 posts)I've already committed to the first release of PfizerWindows-19 next Friday. I Know I'll be scheduled for a Maintenance Pack for roughly four weeks later (this fixes the known bug/feature in the initial release of the nanocode that triggers involuntary flatulence whenever the user/host scratches their nose).
But a new release so soon? Did they learn nothing from PfizerWindows-1 thru 18? (Yes, Ted Nugent, I'm looking at you.)

(3,050 posts)and are there any additional UVC light bulbs that I have to cram in my body? I don't mind the shots but bleach tastes like rotgut and the lightbulbs can break if you go jogging.
What a difference a year makes!
THANK YOU BIDEN ADMINISTRATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
