My niece got that dreaded phone call from work that she may have been exposed to Covid

She took the test and, sure enough, it's positive. However, she's has no fever, no loss of taste or smell. She actually had a slight head cold, to start with and said even those symptoms have almost disappeared.

My advice to her was to keep track of her temp and call to see if she can get another test, later this week, to rule out a false positive. I also told her that, if she does have it, she might be one of the lucky ones who are asymptomatic. She did get her first Moderna jab, about a week ago, so maybe that offered at least SOME measure of mitigation.

Worry, worry, worry. All I seem to do is worry.

At least one worry I don't have is mowing because all of the lawns are taken care of. For now. Oh, and the 2nd worry - our forecast for snow seems to have disappeared. I will be covering the Bleeding Hearts, tonight, because there is a frost advisory.

And I do take some comfort in the fact she's not showing any symptoms, regardless of the reason. I was exposed to it, twice, very early last year and I never got sick. It was before testing was so readily available so I quarantined and kept an eye out for symptoms that never developed.

Hopefully she will be as lucky.

To check her oxygenation. It can change quickly and is a good indicator of when medical attention is needed.
Wishing her a speedy and uneventful recovery.

I went through this with my brother, who got VERY sick, early last year. Fortunately he made a full recovery and is now double Moderna'd.

Over the past 6 years, I've lost 7 family members. And I lost a good friend to Covid.

But, my rational mind says if she's not showing any symptoms, I just need to take a deep breath and carry on.

Let me be clear: Typhoid Mary was asymptomatic

That said, I hope your niece quarantines until she gets the all-clear and hope she is 100% all right.
