Amid the Republican uproar, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Waters was absolutely not inciting violence with her comments, Politico reports. Maxine talked about confrontation in the manner of the civil rights movement, Pelosi said Monday.
Members of Congress and the news media alike were among those noting McCarthys hypocrisy, with Democratic caucus chair Hakeem Jeffries tweeting: This from the guy who supported a violent insurrection. And voted to overturn a lawful election. Maybe you should sit this one out.

(814 posts)Nothing in Waters' comment incited violence. Confrontation usually isn't violence. Just last week I had a confrontation with my bank. Not a single swing was taken by either side.
