8. Boy, I feel like debbie-downer but

we are KILLING the Earth.

More than one in five species on Earth now faces extinction, and that will rise to 50% by the end of the century unless urgent action is taken.

Scientists have labelled the biodiversity crisis as worse than the threat from climate change Over 28,000 species are directly threatened with extinction. That is 27 % of all species assessed.

We don't know exactly how many species go extinct every year but it could be 100,000 - about 1 every 5 minutes.

On a timeline scale, humans are more deadly to other species and our beautiful planet than covid has been to humans. The food chain is already breaking down in some very fundamental, serious ways.

But for today, I am holding love my heart and positive feelings towards our lovely planet and all of our panetary neighbors.

Hope springs eternal -- maybe all the maskhole qpukes will get their "rapture." Then the planet might have a chance at survival.

Maybe the adults now running our country will be able to ferret out solutionns.
