JUNEAU, Alaska — Alaska Airlines has banned an Alaska state senator for refusing to follow mask requirements.

“We have notified Senator Lora Reinbold that she is not permitted to fly with us for her continued refusal to comply with employee instruction regarding the current mask policy,” spokesman Tim Thompson told the Anchorage Daily News on Saturday, adding that the suspension was effective immediately.

Reinbold, a Republican of Eagle River, said she had not been notified of a ban and that she hoped to be on an Alaska Airlines flight in the near future.

Last week, Reinbold was recorded in Juneau International Airport arguing with Alaska Airlines staff about mask policies. A video posted to social media appears to show airline staff telling Reinbold her mask must cover her nose and mouth.

Reinbold told the newspaper that had been inquiring about a “mask exemption with uptight employees at the counter."

I guess she learned that while at ORAL ROBERTS U.

In November 2020, Reinbold refused to resume wearing a mask after eating during flight. An Alaska Airlines policy required passengers to wear them save for eating and drinking. Reinbold wrote on social media, "Mask bullies in full force on Alaskans Airlines- all because a scaredy cat Karen whined loudly and was a Tattle tail (sic) when I took my dumb worthless suffocating mask off, a bit longer than she wanted, for my food and drink." The airline's policy followed the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control. In April 2021, Alaska Airlines banned Reinbold from its services, citing her refusal to comply with staff instructions to wear a mask.[8]

So is anyone else who refuses to wear a mask.

Masks are NOT suffocating. I know doctors, nurses and dental professionals who wear masks all day and they haven't suffocated. I've been wearing a mask in public for over a year and I haven't suffocated.

Science denial is deadly and idiots like Reinbold need to be called out for their stupidity and selfishness.

After I was fully vaccinated I took a short flight with AA to Portland, OR. Their mask policy is strictly enforced...I saw it first hand with a couple travelers who thought they could wear their masks below their nose.

After being banned from the only airline that could get her to Juneau, Alaska state Sen. Lora Reinbold scrambled to get there via an arduous 14-plus-hour car ride, including a jaunt through Canada, to reach a ferry to the capital.

They're literally playing with a fast burning fire right now, and the last thing we want it to do is rage out of control again.
