Not that President Biden gives a damn but have you noticed that

Anchors, hosts and guests call him Joe Biden or Biden but rarely say President Biden.
They never did that with the Insurrectionist in Chief -it was always President
whatthefuckever.

I’d guess the knuckle-dragger outlets are where one would find that kind of defiance.

republicans are authoritarians so they are all over the title. republican presidents always insist on being referred to a president, the president, mr. president, president whatshisname, etc.

but probably ever since jimmy carter, democratic presidents have always gone for the more accessible image and often preferred to be known more informally in many cases.

now, i think the reality is the democratic presidents would prefer the media use their first name when they're in campaign mode but by their formal title when they're acting in their official capacity. but that's a distinction beyond the ken of much of the media.

republicans prefer "president" all the time, when it's one of their own, and never when it's a democrat.

Morning Joe. I think he’s always had a friendly demeanor with the press - I think I heard once he felt they were all just doing their respective jobs to help Americans - so it may be less a sign of disrespect than just “normal.”

Started in 2009 when my littlest watched the inauguration with me and we waved flags together. ❤️ She thought “Barack Obama” was Uncle Bama and I think genuinely thought he was one of her uncles for a while. So it became Unka Bama and Unka Joe.

But zero disrespect with that, he has wisdom of age and reminds me of my moms father long gone who loved us unconditionally and always brought me a candy bar when he came to visit.

Keep that story alive. She'll likely be embarrassed by it at some point in the nearish future, but will be proud of it in later life. I think it's fantastic.

thirsted for any sort of recognition. Had to have it.

They open introducing as “president ____” then follow with first and last name... i do not believe your perception of disrespect is warranted.

At the opening of the segment and the after that can refer to him by name. I believe that is how it works.

My daughters laugh because they know I believe I own him personally and it is just a given that he has the presidential title besides. I think many of us oldsters who have followed Joe over a lifetime feel that way.

Having said that, we all know exactly who refuse to call him President and why. But I can’t waste my time worrying about cult nuts and racists, and neither can My Joe. He’s much too busy.
