It's in line with recent partisan stats showing there are now more Ind's than Rs.

33. Did a rough estimate about what this poll really means.

Looked to Gallup for numbers on how Independents lean. It was real fuzzy. Republican leaning slightly ahead and then there are a very small percentage of an independents who are truly independent

That said, audience composed of:
54% - Dems
18% - Reps
25% - Ind

If we split the 25% in a Rep generous way, let's allocate 15% to Rs and 10% Ds, audience composition is:

64% - Dems or Dem leaning
36% - Reps or Rep leaning ( rounding up)

If 85% approved of speech, then 21% were R's or R leaning (85-64).

Sorry, you may not be a numbers nerd like I am. Wonder if this bottom line makes any sense:
21% of Rs liked the speech. Or if I am mixing apples and oranges which is highly likely

then left to go to bed saying he had “had enough smoke blown up his ass.”

He is an Indiana farm boy, not particularly smart, but a hard worker. My daughter has a master’s degree and flies around the country teaching nursing students to pass their boards. She is very smart. She just rolled her eyes at his pronouncement and we happily watched the rest of Joe’s speech without interruption.

Fortunately my grown grandkids got her intelligence. They love their dad but shake their heads at his often ignorant remarks that he heard from his redneck pals at the diner where he has breakfast.

I avoid any deep discussion with him when I’m visiting and we get along very well. He loves my cooking and he’s taught me a lot about gardening and farming. I often wonder if the cigarettes or my daughter will kill him first, and she does too, but at least he only smokes out in the barn. I guess time will tell.

how Presidenting should be done.

Shows the difference between experience (Biden, decades in politics, including 8 years as Obama's apprentice) and those who have none.

The last guy owes America and the world a big apology.

Proud to have watched that speech from the other side of the world.

In a word: Uplifting!
