Does anyone know if Lyft will take someone through a drive-through vaccination site? (Original Post) Grasswire2 Apr 2021 OP

If they won't and you have taxis where you live, I bet they would, cause they charge for both Hugh_Lebowski Apr 2021 #2

mileage and time, typically.

One or both Uber and Lyft might actually have 'programs' to do this for people for free, worth a check.

Love Lyft and use it for medical appointments regularly.

But this could take significant wait time for the driver in the line. Yes, our taxi service could do it, but they are not reliable time-wise. So many drivers have quit during the pandemic for lack of business.

That doesn't include waiting with you in the car.
You will also have to wait 15 minutes after vaccination.
I don't see any way you could pay for it using an app.

Clearly 6 feet of social distancing isn't possible

I had to cancel an appointment last month because they couldn't get a driver, despite it being a time call for 10 a.m. that I scheduled the night before. And I'm sad about that, because I have used this cab service since I was a teenager, occasionally.

The pandemic killed the taxi business. Drivers quit for lack of fares.

I was scheduled to drive her (a few neighbors and I take turns assisting her with errands, etc.) , but got an emergency call-in to the office and arranged for Lyft to take her instead.

She said the driver was kind and kept her from feeling anxious.

This was in north central TX. I have zero idea of it's a regional/state policy or not.

vax place as they won't want to wait in a long line of cars and miss other trips.

Have them drop you off and pick you up later.

To do our part, Lyft is mobilizing partners and community members to help provide access to 60M rides to and from vaccine appointments.

And your attitude toward them.

I had an Uber or Lyft driver help me out when I had lost my keys at a store.

He spent a couple of hours and four destinations getting me straight and back in my apartment and car.

And the actual charge on my car was only about $20.

My tip was very generous, though.

PM me grasswire.

I presume a Lyft driver will do it as long as you're willing to pay them.
