It's not considered statutory rape, it's consensual sex. One day older than three years it is statutory rape. Many states have similar laws.

I agree 100% with you post above. I have been married to, and 100% faithful to, the same woman for 50 years, but we were making whoopie like rabbits before either of us were close to being adults. We wore out the back seat of my '65 Fairlane... We were married when she was 17 plus two months and I just turned 19.

There are plenty of real issues to go after Gaetz for, but lets not act like right-wingers and demonize him for that particular statement.

It does seem, anecdotally, to me that the more powerful or rich a man is, the easier his pants drop in places they should not. There seems to be a sexual entitlement that goes with power, fame and fortune. Of course, part of that may simply the ability to buy yourself out of trouble.
