Three weeks ago Adriana Londono received the worst phone call a parent could imagine her 12-year-old daughter was dead.
I just ran to the bathroom and cried and screamed, it was probably the worst moment of my whole life, Londono said.
Allayah Thomas, who went by Ally, started experimenting with drugs last fall at just 11 years old. Her family says it escalated until she was using meth and heroin.

(3,492 posts)My daughter at 11 couldnt go anywhere or do anything without my wife and I knowing about it. Theres absolutely no way this should have slipped by without anyone noticing. Parents, teachers, friends. Someone should have seen this going on. Its really tough to hide a dope high. Everyone failed this kid.

(1,969 posts)If you 11 year old is experimenting with meth and heroin, you have simply failed as a parent. There are no two ways around it.
I have all the sympathy in the world but at some point we have to be realistic. This is not a kids today story this is an out of control household.

I'm generally pro-legalization of drugs, but not for 12 year olds.
