If the Koch network is mobilizing against something, that's how you know it would really change things for the better

(16,110 posts)The first phase of the campaign involves focusing on six Democrats and launching digital and radio advertising along with the grassroots effort. The targeted Democratic lawmakers include Sens. Kyrsten Sinema (Ariz.), Chris Coons (Del.), Jon Tester (Mont.), Catherine Cortez Masto (Nev.), Maggie Hassan (N.H.), and Joe Manchin (W.Va.).

(7,282 posts)I'm wondering what our current record in defeating Koch Brothers..
I can see how Sinema would be easy pickin's and Joe Manchin. I was surprised to see Chris Coons named as a target, but that might explain a surprising conservative position he took, I think it was on the minimum wage (minimum wage?) if memory serves?
It seemed like he was making a stand against certain parts of President Biden's agenda, something about fiscal spending too high. And I wondered at the time if he was up against a strong Republican challenger.
Tester has been true stalwart for the working class, farmers and rural community. Hard to grasp him being vulnerable, except that Montana seems to have lost it's mind along with other "conservative" states. I hope he pulls through this one soundly.
Actually I feel this way about all of them, including my least favorites. We need them all plus at least a half dozen more.
We need to pound Koch Brothers into the ground. their "prosperity" is only meant for them. We need to get that message out loud and clear.

AFP hosted grassroots events in Montana on Tuesday, Arizona on Wednesday and Nevada on Thursday and Friday. Each event focused on urging the home state Democratic senator to oppose the end of the filibuster.
The group also set up a webpage, DontBustTheFilibuster.com, that gives people information about contacting their senators to call for them to oppose ending the filibuster."...(more)

(95,247 posts)His pussy-footing about actually backing the essential elements of President Biden's program, and the Democratic Party's program, will avail him nothing. He will still be a major target, because he is a moderate in a Republican state. He will get no credit for balking President Biden's infrastructure and family support bills, nor for preserving the filibuster. All he will get from that is waning support among the Democrats who turn put to support him. Better to bite the bullet, vote for things that are widely popular even in his state, in accord with the maxim that good policy is good politics.
