'I'm very, very serious about this race': Wausau radiologist Gillian Battino makes bid for U.S. Sena

In next year's Democratic race for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin, Gillian Battino is the longest of long shots.
She's a radiologist from Wausau, who has little name recognition and fewer than 1,000 Twitter followers. Earlier this year, she loaned her campaign $55,000 to get the operation off the ground.
But it would be a mistake to take her lightly as she is poised for an official online campaign launch Saturday. After all, for more than a year the world has been dealing with a pandemic, raising the profile of doctors and healthcare workers everywhere.
"Im very, very serious about this race," Battino said in an interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "We are in this race to win it. We have a wonderful energetic group of people working day and night all the way from the east coast to California. This is no joke here. I just want to be clear about that."
