That totally misunderstands the purpose of their pilgrimage.
It isn't his ring they are kissing.

(6,011 posts)They've gotten rid of a huge problem with this guy's election loss. I know they're upset about losing the White House, but Trump was heading on a "Crash and Burn" course, even if he had won. They should be happy that problem is over.
What does he hold over them?
What evidence of nastiness does he hold the key to?
Do they fear what kind of bombs Trump might drop on the GOP?
I just don't get it.

But these guys are politicians, and counting votes is pretty much all they know. So, do they really believe the former guy has that much pull any more?
Personally, I think he'll be just a bad memory by next year.

Unfortunately, those same brain-dead, rabid, drooling worshippers vote. One baleful glance from their Messiah can well send a qpublican to the cornfield.
