The 'Constitutional Carry' of guns will become law in Texas. For the uninitiated, Constitutional Carry means anyone who owns a firearm can carry it openly displayed in public with no training, background check or any other restriction. So if someone meets a guy in the Walmart parking lot that person can legally purchase a gun from a private citizen with no federal background check. That person is a 'law abiding citizen'.

The state Senate passed the bill after stripping a 'Red Flag' provision to allow family or police to petition a Judge to prohibit a person who might be a danger to himself or others from possessing guns from the House version. HR1927 now goes back to the house for consolidation before going to the Governor for signing. Gov. Abbot has said he will sign the bill into law.

A poll of Texas voters showed 81% opposed passing the bill. It passed anyway. Seems the politicians in Texas love the gun industry more than the constituents they allegedly represent. The same as 20 other states that already have 'Constitutional Carry'.

2. The is only one reason to carry a loaded weapon in the open in public.

That reason is not self defense. An assailant will ALWAYS have the advantage of surprise.

It is not defense of the public. A mass shooter will simple shoot you first.

It's not about 'exercising a right'. People around you have rights to and one is to not suffer intimidation.

Which brings us to the only reason someone flaunts a weapon in public: to intimidate the other real law abiding citizens around them.
