Campaign donation e-mails

I donated to the Biden, Ossoff, and Warnock campaigns through Act Blue last year. Since then, I have been bombarded with all sorts of e-mails from all sorts of PACs and candidates wanting money. Many go to my junk folder, while others are straight to my inbox. I unsubscribe as they come in, but at times it’s like playing Whack-a-Mole. (Some of these e-mails look shady as well.) Did I miss the box to opt out of having my e-mail shared on the Act Blue site? Act Blue may not have anything to do with it, but it was coincidental that this became a problem after I donated through them.

Anybody else have this problem?

2. When I unsubscribed from one particularly aggressive email, the automated system wanted to know why-

I said it was because the email was as aggressive as the Trump campaign emails and I wasn't going to be treated like that. Things like (paraphrased), "this is the THIRD time we've emailed you and YOU HAVEN'T ANSWERED YET. WHY?" It was an effort to unseat Ron DeSantis, if I remember correctly.

I used to follow a Twitter account that posted the Trump campaign emails and I was struck by how aggressive and threatening they sounded, like a mob shakedown, and I was turned off by our side resorting to similar tactics. Not acceptable.

I’ve been particularly hit by some congressional campaign out West, but I think I may have FINALLY stopped those. I would get these things three or four times a day. I’ve also gotten e-mails saying I’ve been named to all sorts of select Democratic panels and committees. The reason I give when I unsubscribe is, I’m sick of the spam.

All I know is my e-junk is worse than my postal junk.

Also use if for some other things I know will end up coming back as advertising or requests for funds.

6. I maxed out to Clinton and Biden which means that I am on a number of email lists

I am also on a number of dialing for dollars lists and get calls from candidates all of the time asking for money.

Right now, I also on the Just Us Democrats emailing list. I am not a fan of the Just Us Dems and I find their emails to be so bad and sad that they are funny. Why would any real Democrat give money to the Just Dems is something that I do not understand.

But I like your idea of having ACTBLUE provide an opt out link. I suspect it may be a Democratic Party ploy though. I get way too many solicitation emails!
