Re Liz Cheney, I guess we're still at the speculation stage

The issue? What happens now?

IMO, she's not going to walk back any of her anti-Trump comments and actions, which is good.

But she's a Cheney, which means she's a dyed-in-the-wool conservative Republican, and, again IMO, she's going to vote party line, which is not good.

She's been attacked from all sides in the republican party, from both the House and the Senate.

Ordinarily, one would work within the party to build a coalition, etc. But the party is not a party, it's a death cult dedicated to the former guy. (And I wouldn't be surprised if, when trump dies, his death cult has him put on display, a la Lenin.) So any attempts to steer a course toward the reality-based universe is not going to be met with disagreement; it's going to met with death threats.

So, what does she do? Stay put? If she does that and continues to vote party line, then, in effect, her comments regarding the election would have been pointless, all for nothing, and she would be co-opted into the death cult regardless of her reality-based comments about the election. There's probably an analogy out there about this.

Does she form her own party, bringing along those who, however, reluctantly, share her view that reality is that Biden is the president and that the national survives only with legislators and leaders on both sides working from a shared perspective on reality. If the numbers who join her are slim, then it could be a pointless effort, and she and her rump party would be swept aside. And she and others like her become collateral damage on the road to fascism. But if she stuck with it, it would provide an outlet for others who do not support a fascist party and over time the fascists would become the rump. If this party - let's call it the Anti-Fascist Pary, or Antifa - generates some energy, that would be good. I think it could also mean that Democrats retail power for the next few cycles. That would be good. Or it could mean that all bets are off and who the fuck can predict what happens.

On balance? I think she'll stay put, vote the party line, but be marginalized within the party and among her potential voters. I think it also means that the risk of a fascist party gaining power increases, as it leaves no alternatives for the maybe not so crazy nutjobs on the right.

which can't come soon enough - the cult will mummify him and put his bloated corpse on display in the lobby of Mierda-Loco. Even Lenin is starting to go bad, I've heard; The Former Guy won't last nearly as long. And as to Liz Cheney, I think she's playing a long game, betting that eventually the cult will fizzle and she'll be able to swoop in and save what's left of the GOP. But who knows what will happen.

Have we heard anything from Darth Dad? I would think that he'd be rattling sabers or making phone calls to powerful party members to stake out some position regarding what should be happening.
Perhaps a battle between 2 disgusting has-beens: IQ45 and Darth Cheney.
