General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsWhile watching the news tonight, I tried to think of an honest person connected to Trump.
He was surrounded by his supporters or family, senators and reps, lawyers, etc., but when I tried to pull out an honest to goodness person without a questionable background, I couldn't do it.
Surely, there are many who are free of questionable actions. Perhaps an acquaintance from the past, an appointed person to his cabinet or immediate staff or his attorneys/legal eagles. Darned if I could come up with a name. It seems that everyone he kept onboard, is now or has been tainted, served time or is headed to prison (if the legal system doesn't wear down before it's accomplished or is flirting with a tap on the shoulder from the law. Even his loyal followers have been arrested, particularly after Jan. 6th.
Anyone able to come up with a warm-blooded person who either doesn't have suspicions against them, has yet to commit a crime or isn't about to be indicted?
It's not easy.

(12,164 posts)I keep hoping the kid will somehow overcome his screwed up childhood. That would be the happy movie plot twist probably not realistic, but you never know.

For me I live a simple life, don't have anything fancy but I am happy can do a few travels have medical so don't think they could buy me.

(14,987 posts)so they don't have any high-minded belief system to betray. The belief system they are indoctrinated into from childhood is to hurt other people for one's own benefit. The stories of Trump and his kids in this domain are well-publicized. People are usually a product of their environment more than any magically-dominant innate characteristics.
That's not to say the youngest one is destined to turn out shitty, just that he's very very likely to turn out that way. Because of who is in his life/experience.

(17,314 posts)Dr. Anthony Fauci. He predated Trump, but he was there prominently alongside him for his last year during COVID-19.
Fauci is an honest person, and Trump HATED him. No surprise.

(5,445 posts)Specifically,
Fauci and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson who called Trump a "F'n moron" come to mind, and perhaps to varying degrees others like Esper who refused to go along with some of Trump's nonsense.

The Mooch and Tillerson didn't totally escape ridicule though from how they were separated from trump and his cabal, which turned out good for them.
Oh, can't forget Dr. Fauci. His reputation got burnished for how he never kowtowed to trump.
