No more Cheney adulation

For crying out loud she is knee deep in far right republican extremism.
She is the daughter of one of the most violent and dangerous political extremist in US history.

She literally threw her own sister to the wolves for personal political gain.

She is NOT a hero.

She is NOT a good person.

Screw her. I could care less what happens to her.

Seems to be the political reality over the past 40 years. But, listening to Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell today, I know who sounds truthful. And Chuck was my "never Democrat" for liberal/progressive issues back 10 years ago.. Today, he seems to get it. When it comes to politics, I think you can't let yourself be set in political concrete. You need to move as the time dictates.

She was a reliable trump vote in the House.
She has never apologized or tried to mend bridges with her sister.
She consistently operated exactly as her dad always did.

She isn't honorable. She is just playing the odds that trump's brand of politics is not going to play well in 2022 or 2024. Even in Wyoming.

Its political calculus. Nothing more.

Truly an amoral hypocritical financial opportunist of the Highest Order. He deserves his own trial, IMHO. Then again, we never held Bush/Cheney accountable for their "out of post" on 9/11 or starting a war with a country that nothing to do with 9/11. And. what Iraqi's and Afghani's had a role in 9/11?

The country that had 21/23 known hi-jackers was Saudi Arabia. Upon learning this, we get all the kings, queens, princesses, and bin Ladens out of our country,,,,while we could not fly. Then we exit US bases in SA and took on their #1 secular enemy on their border. Made SA more profitable. Fucking great.

But, a lot of people (Bush) have made money investing in Aramco futures.

Some people seem to have no sense of history.

Like Hitler, Stalin ordered the murder of millions of people and like Trump his willfull or ignorant neglegence killed millions more through preventable or intentional famine.

When the stakes are high enough, we will work with any ally we can find.

We can tolerate working with Liz Cheney. She's far better than Stalin.

That alliance was a mistake. Stalin was as much a danger, if not more, than Hitler.

There are no socialists in government. There is no chance that The United States will adapt socialism in the next 200 years. YET, in her speech denouncing the current crazy fascism within the Republican party (which is actually the natural ending point for conservatism), she had to take a swipe at a moderately progressive Democratic party and label it "socialism".

Not an ally.

I for one, welcome the Republican infighting. I hope they tear each other apart. There is no need for conservatism in this country.

Alliances can be amoral transactions to secure power needed at a given time.

We might have opposed the Bush/Cheney neocons over attacking Iraq and the value of exporting by force on the middle east, but at least we agreed on the underlying value of democracy.

Trump is just a vehicle.

What we should do is help conservatism to destroy itself. Not just Trump, but Cheney too. You need to understand that Cheney, Rumsfeld, Barr, et al were the architects and promoters of the idea of the Unitary Executive, which is what Trump tried to become. Barr pushed for that alongside Trump until he realized that Trump was too much of an idiot for it to be effective.

We do not need to ally with Cheney. We need to send a parallel message that THIS is what happens when the party that favors a hierarchy and power in the hands of the wealthy with little to no accountability, is left unchecked by people who think the government should be by consent of the governed.

The Republican/Conservative party is having an internal struggle to see HOW best to achieve a stratified country where the wealthy rule and the rest of us serve their needs. There is a third option. Vote Democratic Party so that the average person will have a bigger say in how government operates.

Republicanism is about a convertrated power in the hands of a "creator" class. But it's still a whole class of people and not an authoritarian monarchy at all. Trumpism and QAnon are coverging into a religious cult much like North Korea.

We can't win this battle without the power brokers like Liz Cheney, even if we fight them for decades after this is over.

She is a rat from a family of rats - and she hangs out with rats.

Just because she has decided to stand up and suggest rats need to stop eating each other does not change the fact that she is a rat.

One (or even many) speech(es) does not change a rat into another animal.

I just re-read this and now I can't stop laughing about it.
