While I can't and wouldn't say I could predict the specifics like "a Cheney got bounced...telling the truth..." from the trajectory of the Republican party since the late 1970's it seems like it was a matter of time before the Republicans became so radical that they would out pace the arch conservatives of the Reagan era. Remember that when Bush Sr. ran against Reagan in 1980, he said some of the same things that Cheney said about Trump. Bush Sr. was a WASPy old Republican while Reagan was a neoliberal Conservative, religiously driven, anti-communist, anti-Black, and wanting for no taxes on the wealthy and no regulatory State. Reagan was the beginning, but I don't think that Reagan would even recognize the party today.

is simply a logical progression for her political party. After all, Darth Cheney, this one's father, told more than his share of lies about Saddam Hussein having WMDs, and being responsible for the 911 attacks, so Halliburton could make billions of dollars off of a war. So, lying has clearly been very profitable for the leaders, and especially the funders, of their political party.
