Quick question for the crowd:

Exactly what sort of freakish, whacked-out vacations does Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA) take?

Katy Tur Reports @KatyOnMSNBC · 2h

Earlier today Georgia Rep. Andrew Clyde said that if you didn't know the footage was from January 6th, you "would actually think it was a normal tourist visit."

@JakeSherman
: That's "one of the most ridiculous statements I've ever heard."

I don't think the Hilton Hotel would take too kindly to people smashing their windows and going to the bathroom in the halls.

They are really trying hard to minimize January 6th.

computer screen, "Where are the police, where are the National Guard, what the heck is going on?" I was completely and utterly appalled and terrified at what I was watching. It was as far from a "tourist visit" as I've ever seen. These people are either friggin nuts or totally without any morals at all. I go with the no morals.

visited the Capitol back in the 80s. My parents told me to be respectful in there, so I knew I had to shit in the hallway. Everyone was really proud of me, and a couple of Capitol policemen came and let me bash them with a flag pole. It was nice, clean fun!

I don't know what my parents were thinking, allowing me to walk in the Capitol without a Confederate flag! The first time we went, Nelson Rockefeller was VP and the second time it was GHW Bush. Bush was loyal to Reagan, but Rockefeller was kind of a traitor to Ford. He counted the electoral votes and gave the presidency to Carter! We didn't know back then about the rule for VPs, how you're allowed to kill them if they don't throw the election for the Republican. Live and learn.

Remind me, how many police officers are murdered and injured on a regular tourist day?

the public trials start for all of those insurrectionists. It appears there are going to be a lot of trials going on for a very long time, with a lot of very graphic footage of the attempted coup being made available to the media.

I suspect that the Democratic opponents of people like Andrew Clyde will make good use of the coup sympathizes statements contrasted with some of that very graphic footage.

13. It's not "ridiculous". It is a calculated lie. I would describe it as "chilling".

Lying is now an official GOP political position. They took a vote and lying won, bigly.
