if ReTHUG leaders were blackmailed by the insurrectionist in chief!
Many of us already believe that - just saying.

(11,564 posts)I don't see any of them being willing to step up to the plate, unless the govt. has something much worse on them than what "their own people" have.

(10,011 posts)What is the likelihood that Putin shared the contents of the RNC with Trump, which he then used to blackmail key Republicans? Lindsey Graham made a 180 turn after one golf game with Trump. While Trump may have compromat on several Republicans, I think theyve also seen the advantages of emulating a man for whom no law matters, who hasso farbeen able to get away with obstruction and corruption, and who exerts every option to steal an election. Those are traits Republicans want to emulate, not reject.

(5,275 posts)Chitolini is basically a dumb Mafia type and him blackmailing folks make sense.
Lindsay Grahams 180 on Chitolini was extreme to be sure.....and others werent quite as extreme but still in the end this theory would explain a lot.
Now Chitolini may be charged by New York soon and that may change everything.

(1,990 posts)that a large percentage of people get involved in politics for "personal gain" rather than "public service", those types usually have some sort of "skeletons" in their closet already. They probably have a history of tax cheating, underhanded dealing, affairs, etc... It comes with the territory, so to speak. So its probably quite easy to "blackmail" many politicians in one way or another.
To this day, I don't know why the Democrats didn't make a bigger deal about Kavenaugh's unexplained credit card payoff. That was a tell-tale sign of a disguised payment. Dude either had gambling debts or was being blackmailed/bank rolled for something.

30 years down the line it wont be relevant. Did they support him because they like his brand of fascism?
