Dr. Leana Wen said (paraphrased) if we just get rid of all mask mandates what is to prevent unvaccinated people from endangering all of us?
Let's face it: a huge percentage of the unvaccinated will be trumpers. Are you willing to trust them when they say they're vaccinated and don't have to wear a mask?
How is this going to work if only our side plays by the rules?

(9,998 posts)If you feel unsafe due to all the Morons out there who refuse to get vaccinated, then you should keep wearing your mask while out in public. I know that I intend to.
My hope is that a large percentage of those who die in the coming months, will be people who refused to get vaccinated. If the vaccine protects people who are responsible, from severe illness, then that's a good thing.
I've been waiting for the day when the virus only kills those Assholes on the right, who think it's a hoax, or whatever. Hopefully that time has come.

(17,066 posts)about being vaccinated it is too many IMHO. Dr. Wen seemed really floored by the decision. I will keep wearing a mask because I am cautious by nature, but some people aren't and they will follow the new guidelines.

(70,516 posts)... accept and or transmit the virus but the dirt balls who refuse to get vaccinated might very
well become incubators for new and different strains of the C-19 virus which will not respond to
the current vaccines.
"How is this going to work?" You want to go to an Ohio State Game or a NFL game you will have
to prove your are vaccinated. Same goes for work, going to school or college, getting medicare
or health insurance, going to a restaurant or bar, going into a grocery store, going to a concert, and
.... . It will be done. We don't see kids in iron lungs from polio anymore.

(17,066 posts)throughout, especially for air travel. She is not exactly one to over-react. If we had followed her advice throughout, we would be in an entirely different place. But as to your point about masks, I literally thought I could not breathe when I first tried one on. I hated it. Now it's just part of my "going out" outfit.
