Just got back from shopping at Meijer. Pretty much everyone was wearing masks

On my way to the checkout line I saw one very grumpy looking older man without one. And, there is still a sign on the door stating that masks are required. Maybe they just haven't updated things, yet, or maybe they are going to wait. I guess I'll find out if they have something I need on sale, next week.

I did notice that the 'one way' aisle signs are gone.

I visit two stores of the same brand. One with wider aisles no longer has "one way" signs. Klaralven May 2021 #4
They should cover them by ignoring them and NOT reporting on them. Out of sight, out of mind. joetheman May 2021 #10

This area is very Blue and has always been pretty mask compliant. East of here it's trump* country.

Publix had them for 30 days and it was a mess. People not paying attention so they had to turn around and pass people going in the right direction. I’d just watch sometimes. It was something to see.

Normally I shop there during their early opening hours, Tuesday and Thursday. Sometimes I'm one of just a few people in the store so if the aisle is empty, I'm using it, regardless of the arrow.

It makes the directional ailes easier to navigate too.

The last couple of weeks I've noticed more people shopping those early hours.

That's one little perk I'll miss. I could leave the house at 8:30, get everything I needed, and be home before 9. (Aldi is only about a mile up the road, from me.)

That’s why publix mostly gets my business as it’s 3 miles away.

Announced that they will still be requiring masks on all shoppers and employees no matter what the state mandate is or isn’t... I hope most other stores that sell food will follow suit.

Although I’m sure we’ll start seeing maskless sourpusses in their MAGA hats pretty soon.

until about three weeks after Ohio’s orders expire. We want to see how bad it gets before unmasking. We are going to our first indoor restaurant on Sunday for our 23rd anniversary.

such as supermarkets and the like will not be in any hurry to do away with mask mandates. It's more about risk assessment and liability for them.
