Isn't the entire world at risk from ransomware?

Shouldn't bitcoin and other forms of money like it be outlawed all over the world?
Shouldn't there be some kind of manual redundancy in major energy systems?
It seems to me that human greed is going to be the ultimate downfall of living humanely.

... security cause they don't have to and many of the standards from the government are "suggestions".

My 40 yrs of IT experience tells me set a cyber security standard for critical infrastructure like we do with bridges and houses and damns etc

The government issues only voluntary cybersecurity guidelines for pipelines, even those like Colonial that affect millions of people every day. Even those voluntary guidelines have been such a non-priority, in fact, that no one seems to have been paying much attention to the issue at all for a decade or more in some cases.
