My most recent stimulus check was deposited to my account nearly two months ago. Today I received a letter with President Biden's signature telling me that my stimulus will be deposited within the next 7 days. My daughter had received the same letter TWICE, about two weeks ago.
Someone is really messing up.... they're wasting postage, and even worse it makes the White House look like a bunch of clowns.

(15,825 posts)I got the money so why bother reading the letter that says I got money or will get money.

(28,820 posts)You got your stimulus. Would you feel better if you hadnt gotten it?
Serious shit going on and you are worried about a computer error. That frankly saying the White House is responsible unrealistic.

(32,086 posts)Trump made a massive mess of the IRS and the rest of the government. It's going to take some time to fix that, as well as finish removing any remaining loyalists that were left over. They're still around, creating chaos whenever they can. I wouldn't be surprised if that's what's happening here, along long with some shenanigans via Louie DeJoy's USPS.

(3,417 posts)This confusing letter was the source of a three-day argument about his payment.
I told him to call the White House for clarification. He's furious that I won't loan him the money in advance.
PLEASE...SOMEONE EDIT THIS KIND OF CORRESPONDENCE!

(32,626 posts)and these letters are to those who had direct payments? Somehow, somewhere this explanation entered my brain.

(108,035 posts)Mine was a direct payment and I received the same letter.
I believe the intent was to assure no one slipped through the cracks.

(9,893 posts)with this letter was that it was from the IRS. Do I want to get a letter in may from the IRS? Not really. I opened it quickly to see what I had done wrong and how much I owed only to see that it was from Biden about my stimulus payment. I didn't even process it once I knew I wasn't getting audited.

(9,076 posts)We didn't qualify for stimulus, but we get a lot of my in-laws' mail for whatever reason. We saw a letter for them from the IRS, and my first reaction was, "Are your parents getting audited?!"
Kind of amusing.
They also got a check for something called the Golden State stimulus. California has its own stimulus. I had no idea that was a thing.

It seemed then and now like nothing more than a victory lap.
But I believe the letters are just that, a notice that the check was already sent

"Wait, you hate Biden but cashed his check?"
