Brittany Chang
Fully vaccinated Walmart and Sam's Clubs customers and store associates will no longer have to wear face masks in-store, according to a memo emailed to employees on Friday.
The stores will still enforce mask requirements in areas where local and state mask laws remain in place.
This new announcement goes into affect immediately for Walmart and Sam's Club customers, but vaccinated workers will still have to wait until May 18 before they can work without a mask on.
The companies are still reviewing mask protocols for "certain job codes for health and sanitation purposes," and will continue to follow mask mandates depending on city and state gui dances, according to the note.

In Costco locations where the state or local jurisdiction does not have a mask mandate, we will allow members and guests who are fully vaccinated to enter Costco without a face mask or face shield. We will not require proof of vaccination, but we ask for members responsible and respectful cooperation with this revised policy. Face coverings will still be required in healthcare settings, including Pharmacy, Optical, Hearing Aid. Costco continues to recommend that all members and guests, especially those who are at higher risk, wear a mask or shield.
In those Costco locations where the state or local jurisdiction does have a mask mandate, we will follow the state or local regulations and continue to require members and guests to wear a face mask or face shield. Children under the age of 2 are exempt. If a member or guest has a medical condition that prevents them from wearing a mask, they must wear a face shield.

(19,204 posts)until they come up with a vaccine for 5-11 year olds. My grandchildren mean too much to me, and if I ever infected them I'd never forgive myself.
They say they'll probably have something by the end of the summer, so I can stick it out.
And I double-dog-dare some stupid anti- masker to get in my face about having a mask on. No one messes with Grandpa Bear.

(2,203 posts)Unless they are going to try to require proof who is vaccinated, stores and other public places should not be using the 'honor' system of who wears a mask. My main concern is those who have no choice to get a vaccine and are now being endangered by this approach, most predominantly our children!!!!!

(22,694 posts)My understanding is that the guidance isn't for all spaces with some vaccinated. It's for some spaces with all vaccinated. This is based on local guidance and Ms. Rochelle Walensky from the CDC said as such. We are supposed to be following local, county and state guidance.
This just throws a monkey wrench into the whole process. I am very disappointed.
