Kevin McCarthy Says Biden Doesnt Have the Energy of Donald Trump: Trump Didnt Need to Sleep Five Hours a Night
By Gideon TaaffeMay 14th, 2021, 10:14 pm
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) spoke admirably of former President Donald Trump, claiming, Donald Trump didnt need to sleep five hours a night.
McCarthy appeared alongside Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) and the new House GOP conference chair Elise Stefanik (R-NY) on Hannity Friday.
Sean Hannity asked McCarthy for his observations on President Joe Biden after their recent meeting. Hannity said of the president, I kinda see Joe as a little bit out of it, well, a little bit more than out of it, a little checked out. And Im concerned that I am not the only one that sees it. As a matter of fact, everybody I talk to says they see it.
The congressman compared Biden to his predecessor. At no time, having known Joe Biden for some time, does he have the energy of Donald Trump. Donald Trump didnt need to sleep 5 hours and he would be engaged. If you called Donald Trump, hed get on the phone before staff would.

Numerous studies show the benefits of sleep. I remember it being an issue when I was working. There were signs on office doors saying, "Sleep is for the weak!" Actually, sleep is a necessary function for the body and mind to work correctly. I would trust a president who needs more sleep and gets it over one who doesn't get enough.

Nothing healthy about not sleeping.

(42,594 posts)There's no question that people need their sleep: studies have linked a lack of shut-eye to everything from disruptions in the immune system to cognitive deficits to weight control.
In fact, psychologist Matthew Walker of the University of California, Berkeley, says that "almost all psychiatric disorders show some problems with sleep.'' But, he says that scientists previously believed the psychiatric problems triggered the sleep issues. New research from his lab, however, suggests the reverse is the case; that is, a lack of shut-eye is causing some psychological disturbances.
