For more than 4 years, I considered 5 hours of sleep to be the best I could do considering the stress "the former guy" created on this planet.
Now, I am sleeping better and achieving 6,7 sometimes even 8 hours of sleep! (not every night)
I feel better, am less stressed and definitely more energetic.
"Former guy" has a sleep disorder and caused anxiety to permeate and manifest disorders in many of us.
I am trying to work on my anxiety, anger and depression.
It is easier now.
How about all of you?

(17,988 posts)Although life has a way of getting you down the dread of what will he do next went away when I watched Trump board Air Force One for the last time with a small crowd watching, Ivanka crying.
Trump tried to make it look important. He just looked like what he was. A very sore ,pathetic loser.

(26,286 posts)The last 4 years have exposed just how many lunatics we have in this country, and they are driving, breeding and voting.
I do my best to live in the moment but unless we can remove a WHOLE bunch of GQP miscreants from the legislature, my fear is the changes they will make to the nation will be nearly irreparable.

The future riding on the mid term election is anxiety central.
Keeping the faith is what I strive for in precarious times. And taking pleasure in spring's beauty. Peace.

(21,596 posts)However, I feel like I have ongoing post-traumatic stress from the previous four years.
I am also struggling with anger, anxiety and low grade depression.
The pandemic combined with four years of a corrupt, criminal and treasonous administration, plus working to get Democrats elected here in Georgia was really overwhelming and exhausting.
I feel really, really angry at Manchin and Sinema for holding Bidens legislation hostage.
I went out (unvaccinated) door to door in the middle of a pandemic to get Senators Ossoff and Warnock elected. I risked my health and my life. On the night of the January runoff, I was out on the doors until 6:30pm and the polls closed at 7pm. I want Bidens legislation passed now.
I felt a renewed sense of hope and an infusion of positive energy when I heard President Biden and Dr. Jill Biden, along with many Georgia Democratic leaders and elected officials speak recently in Duluth, Georgia.
I am working on exercising more, and taking care of myself. Im fully vaccinated and looking forward to visiting vaccinated friends and family this summer. My 12 year old child just got their first Pfizer shot on Thursday which made me so very happy!

I just found a beautiful little ring neck snake sleeping in the hay bale I was getting out. Things like that make me happy.

And what I saw was...
"How many of you are sleeping together?"

(57,073 posts)Just as our beloved Pres bama predicted, we are not having to wonder/ worry about what Joe/Kamala are doing.
No more wondering if our "leader" will fire off nukes while we try to rest, thankfully!
Now, if DOJ will please round up, incarcerate & convict traitors, I will really sleep well!

(17,587 posts)that the 40% of Trump supporters are still trying to undo the election. They stay up night worrying about our "Socialist, dementia ridden" President. They are still dreaming about dead people voting and machines changing ballots. I sleep better knowing that Biden is in the White House and Trump is in the club house. We tried the right-wing Fascist version of America for four years and decided, by a landslide, that we didn't like it, and that is the cool side of the pillow for me. The only thing that would make me sleep better if Trump died during sex with DeSantis.

(21,596 posts)Governor KKKemp here in Georgia is awful, but DeSatan is so much more evil and corrupt. What's even worse is that the former guy is living in Florida too.

(146,324 posts)I'm still dealing with the death and estate of my parents, and now my wife and I are house-hunting, on top of that. In fact, we're heading out today to look at two more potential houses. We've been talking about our offer strategy in the high-competitive market we have here. I think I have an answer that should help us land the house we like best. I hope so.
The worst thing right now is that you can't really think about a place for too long. New listings are being sold with multiple offers the first weekend they are on the market, and that isn't going to stop. So, we're going to have to jump on a place in our price range if we like it. We're not super picky, though, so that will make it easier. The trick is to guess what to offer to help ensure getting the offer accepted. That's the strategy we've been talking about.

(72,006 posts)Back then, people were worried if they could ever sell, now it's the opposite.
They rented for a year and started a search for a new house and after 2 months of the housing market roller coaster, they decided to take another break.
Then, somehow they found their perfect house with no strings attached.
Hope you find yours without too much more stress.

(25,873 posts)I haven't lost any over Trump, or anything at all to do with politics.
Perhaps not watching news all day is the secret. Don't have a TV, although I have a link to be able to stream MSNBC and CNN. I generally watch Rachel Maddow, but not every day.

(31,399 posts)since the election, but much better since I moved into my new house on January 6th. Yes, the insurrection was happening the day of my move! No internet or cable until the next morning when Spectrum came to connect me.
As I've watched the housing market go nuts in the last few months, I'm really glad I made the decision to buy/ build in April 2020 before everything started heating up. One less stressor.
