"if you aint cheating you're aint trying," the CDC mask rules relying on the honor system, which requires rigorous honesty by participants, is a full throated goose-honking joke.

(9,952 posts)longer hard to get so the only people affected are the asses. Science says vacc'ed is protected from variants and we do not pass it on, the load would be so lite even if we got covid. The only people affected from no mask are the asses.

(12,862 posts)Immune compromised people, like those undergoing chemo therapy, or those who have undergone organ transplants, are put at far greater risk. With some kind of mask mandate there was some limited protection in societal settings. For instance, Costco and Starbucks, have removed their mask mandates.
The places these immune compromised people can go has gotten far smaller because of this action.
But who cares about them. Keep them locked down.

(9,952 posts)I am assuming many in the group you refer have gotten the vacc also. are you suggesting we wear a mask forever more for people with compromised immunity from all infectious illness, per mask? There is an argument in that seeing how flu pretty much did not happen because of our behaviors protecting from covid. But that is another conversation.

(12,862 posts)The science shows trials were not conducted on anyone who underwent chemo therapy six months prior to receiving the vaccination. I know from personal experience that a person who received the vaccination while undergoing chemo, who received a vaccination, showed no antibodies or protection from the vaccine.
Trials are being conducted no to understand this better. As it stands right now, the mask is the only protection they have.
What I am suggesting is some people who do not benefit from the vaccine, or who can't get it, are not asses (your words) and should be considered, at some level.
Also, the flu is not COVID.
