Arizona state Rep. Mark Finchem received $6,000 from Donald Trump's campaign as he worked to invalidate Joe Biden's win.
Arizona Republican state Rep. Mark Finchem, currently the only declared candidate for the position of Arizona secretary of state, has threatened to sue a group calling for his recall.
Lawyers for Finchem sent a letter dated May 5 to Rural Arizonans for Accountability, a group of Arizona residents working to file a petition to recall him, demanding they "immediately cease and desist from publishing and retract all false and defamatory allegations contained in materials that you have published in support of your campaign to recall Rep. Finchem."
The letter refers specifically to the group's contention that Finchem "played a role in the January 6th attacks on our nation's Capitol" and that he has "ties to domestic terrorist organizations."

Sue everyone maroon!! If you were documented in some way as being at the Capital on 1/6 - own it!! Sue to your heart's content. The old saying "fools and their money are soon parted" comes to mind. You're likely to get a better result by peeing into a stiff wind.

(2,496 posts)whatever they say it is. There is a word for that: solipsism. Its something usually encountered in mental health hospitals. Makes me wonder if there is a toxin in the environment that pushes certain predisposed individuals over the edge.

(2,496 posts)It doesnt make sense. Human beings are mostly pragmatic. Theyll conform to social programming until it interferes with putting food on the table, and then they revise their belief system. Something here doesnt add up.

(17,120 posts)against this twit? Is it a "strategic" move because they don't think they'd win? They just hand this ass puss the Arizona Secretary of State job? Concede without even trying?

(54,405 posts)His 50 state strategy was considered radical and risky at the time, and bitterly fought by, for example, Rahm Emmanuel, who was DCCC chair at the time. Howard's success was undeniable, but followed by a lot of "maybe this can be done even better." So far, the answer has been, "no, it couldn't," but no one wants to admit that Howard's mouse trap has been the best model to date. As long as Howard is around to offer advice, I would hazard a guess that the most successful DNC chair will be the one that most consults with Howard on how to do the job.
I have a friend that ran for Iowa State auditor a few years ago. He was running against an entrenched Republican incumbent. I told him he should get in touch with Howard. He asked , "How?" I said that's an easy one, called Howard on my phone and handed it to him. They talked for half an hour at least. I didn't ask for a transcript, but my friend was the only Democrat to win a statewide race in Iowa that year.
