repugs are slightly more responsible than expected on this issue. It’s still not good enough though.

What is wrong with these idiots? It's not just that they're lemmings going off the cliff Trump led them to. By perpetuating the virus, they help create more variants that endanger us all. But hey, they’ll still have their “freedom” to croak and ascend into heaven (cue celestial choir) while offing a bunch of other people in the process.

The incentive of returning to normal means nothing to the anti-vaxxers and COVID deniers. They're not wearing masks or practicing safe social distancing anyway, and in their tiny worlds and tiny minds, the imagined risks of the vaccine are greater than the actual protection it affords.

Meanwhile, only 45 percent of U.S. House Republicans have gotten the shot (Business Insider), and U.S. Senators and professional dumbasses Rand Paul, Mike Braun, and Ron Johnson are the holdouts in the "deliberative" chamber.

The Republican Party is a death cult.

I'm guessing it is a logistics thing but we have to figure it out.

brother-in-law asked in a panicked way where he could get a vaccine. He got one, even before I did, since California was vaccinating more quickly than Minnesota was at the time.

That was shortly after my father and his father-in-law died from Covid-19, three days after his first symptoms. It's interesting how effective someone's death who is a relative sharpens the mind.

I don't engage with my brother-in-law regarding politics, because my rule is not to alienate relatives, especially since I became the executor and trustee of my parents' estate. That, however, is almost completely settled, now. So, I will have to revisit my relationship with him soon.

However, he has grudgingly admitted that he could not have managed the complex estate himself, and frequently asks me for advice on filling out complicated forms and the like. Even so, he is still posting right-wing memes on Facebook. Go figure. I guess liberals are of some use, in his mind, even if they are normally to be ridiculed and shunned, if they are competent in ways you are not.

Sadly, my sister, his wife, suffers from advanced Alzheimer's so I am having to deal with him on a regular basis, since he his her caregiver.

of all Americans have "one shot". It's good that seniors took it seriously, but with less than 50% overall, it's too soon to ditch the masks and precautions.

And I bet hardly any of them wear masks.
