(33,035 posts)I cannot bring the photo over using this phone.
source-https://www.thecut.com/2017/05/donald-trump-taylor-swift-driving-video.html
snip-"The clip comes via Melania, who filmed it while riding in the backseat as her husband drove and son Barron rode shotgun and posted it on her Facebook page, which is as much of a treasure trove as her Twitter account. (The video was recently unearthed by Axios after Trump commented in an interview that he missed driving.)

(19,204 posts)It lasted about 2 seconds, and then more commercials. I couldn't tell if it was The Orange Blob or not, really. Where the found an empty street in NYC is puzzling as well.

(19,204 posts)and I'd LOVE to get behind the wheel of a high-end Tesla. Hopefully soon.

(47,459 posts)I backed out of the driveway with it, and once on the street, I stepped on the gas.
The next thing I knew I was at the end of the street.
Scared the bejeebers out of me. I have not driven it since.
You and Joe sound cut out of the same cloth.
For heaven's sake put on your seat belt.
And have fun if you get in a Tesla, high end.
They must zoom.

(19,204 posts)I didn't live this long by taking stupid chances. Theres a time and place for having fun behind the wheel of a fast car, and there's a time for being a reasonable, courteous, and prudent driver.
I just want to floor it and feel the acceleration g-forces pin me to the back of the seat. 🤯 That's a big turn on for me. What can I say? I grew up at a time when Detroit had some beasts coming off their assembly lines, and with a little tinkering they'd go faster. Speed is just a matter of how much money you want to spend. Take care.

(47,459 posts)I literally get sick riding on the tea cup ride at the state fair.
You must like to ride the monster roller coasters.
Hey I know, forget the Telsa car, why don't you try his SpaceX.
Talk about g forces!
SergeStorms
(19,204 posts)I used to love riding the coasters, but two back surgeries have put a stop to that. In a straight line acceleration I can still handle it, so fast cars are still on the menu.
Space travel is completely out of the question at my age and spinal condition, but when I was a younger man......you bet!
Irish_Dem
(47,459 posts)I avoid them at all costs.
Yes you must have an iron stomach and nerves of steel.
I have had extensive spinal surgery as well. Not a whole lot of fun.
You probably don't want to do anything to mess that up again.
I am not sure you want to drive a car with g-force.
SergeStorms
(19,204 posts)I have in my back it should be much better than new, right?

(47,459 posts)If you have a fall, or trauma to the spine, the titanium doesn't move at all.
It holds your spine perfectly in place.
The problem is that on either end of the titanium plates and pins, the unprotected spine takes a walloping.
And the discs there can herniate.
So just try to have no more trauma to your spine.

(19,204 posts)it's been 20 years since the last operation, so I'm fairly in tune with what my body can and can't do. I'm an amateur weatherman now. I can tell you when a low pressure system is coming the day before it gets here. When I was young I used to think people who said they could tell the weather from their bodies were crazy. Now I'm the one other people think who's crazy. Luckily we've had a run of great weather lately, so I'm happy.

(38,328 posts)It'll probably be a few years before I replace it with an electric.
All the cars I buy are broken. I can fix them.
I once bought a new car in the 'eighties.
I won't ever do that again.

(658 posts)If so, I too drive an old Ford pickup truck. The next I buy will be electric. Although, I believe I have 5 or so years left in this one.
