"SNIP.....
Republican senators publicly and privately tell CNN that the proposed Jan. 6 commission could undercut their partys midterm election message.
Said Sen. John Thune (R-SD): I want our midterm message to be on the kinds of things that the American people are dealing
not re-litigating the 2020 elections.
(Taegan Goddard added Its not often that a politician says out loud that he cares more about his next election than our democracy.
.....SNIP"

(1,648 posts)And drag everything out about their part of it in hearings that burns all of their asses for being the corrupt traitors they are.
Their fucking war with the government must end, along with their plot to privatize the government for their Republican Fascism.

(1,157 posts)The message should include the talking point What are the Rethuglicans Trying to Hide by blocking this commission from now till the 2022 mid-terms and beyond.

(1,450 posts)is as good as saying we're guilty. The truth is going to come out no matter what. They just don't want to have to testify themselves.

They will treat it like the Lost Cause and erect statues if given a chance.
As of now, they may even take the House in 2022 due to structural advantages like gerrymandering. Thats how screwed we are

(8,965 posts)Scores of Capitol Police were attacked and injured during the 1/6 insurrection. Turning a blind eye risks more of the same, and is an insult to the memory of the officer who lost his life in the line of duty. Circumstances matter. A cop who murders a citizen must be held accountable. A mob that inflicts harm on police officers must also be held accountable. And legislators who would normalize or trivialize the actions of that mob must be called out daily and made to pay a price for failing to uphold their Constitutional duties. They tarred and feathered us with the "defund" nonsense. It's about time to turn the tables on them.
