they need to audit ES&S machines in Maine, Kentucky, and Florida. When exit polling is way off from actual results there's a snake in the wood pile.

when we were the gold standard for how to run elections, fledgling democracies called upon the US to monitor their elections. Do you remember one of the main tools we used to monitor their elections? Exit polling. When we found exit polling differed significantly from the actual vote count we raised alarm bells.

Why shouldn't that same standard apply to our elections? I am not making willy nilly oh we lost there must be fraud claims. When regular polling and exit polling differ from actual results it "can be" an indication of fraud.

Do you think I am off base to question what went on in Ohio in the 2004 election? When the votes from Ohio were routed to a warehouse in Tennessee and an individual was prepared to testify before Congress about that incident but his small plane crashed on his way to DC.
Am I being less confident in the results of a few particular elections? You bet I am, but I have actual reasons to be less confident.

I also believe that we won the last election because more people voted with mail in ballots. Is it just a coincidence that Republicans are passing bills to restrict the use of mail in ballots in future elections?

Our public is less confident in the outcome of our elections because our DOJ sits back and allows a Qanon company to violate federal election laws. If there are no consequences for what is going on in Arizona these Qanon people are going to move on to other states.

Call me paranoid and blame me for making people less confident in the outcome of our elections but I have voted for decades into a black hole machine in Pa. with no paper trail and when I was given the chance to vote by mail I jumped on board. I just voted by mail in our recent primary and will continue to do so until our Republican controlled legislature stops me.

but IMO, one of the main reasons that we won the last election was because of a significantly greater use of mail in ballots, which are harder to flip. It isn't coincidence that the Heritage Foundation wrote up bills for Republicans which restrict the use of mail in ballots in future elections. I vote in Pa. and for years on end I voted into a black hole machine with no paper trail.

I also shudder when I hear MF45 and the rest of the GQP talk about how Dominion machines are flipping votes for Democrats when I am aware of their use of projection.

I complain about the ES&S voting machines not on a whim but because several state races that used those machines had discrepancies between exit polling and actual vote counts.

If there are legitimate reasons to question the outcome of an election, is it not our duty to follow up?

Do you believe that the 2004 election vote count in Ohio should have been investigated? Or would we be just like Republicans for questioning why votes from Ohio went through a warehouse in Tennessee, and why the person who was going to testify before Congress about the issue was killed in his small plane crash?

I don't know the answer to this but it would be interesting for someone to investigate. How many outcomes of elections are there where the Democratic candidate was projected to win because of exit polling but lost, and how many outcomes of elections are there where the Republican candidate was projected to win because of exit polling but lost. Just a thought.

Also, is it a fair request to want to know who the owners of voting machines are?

13. Projection
Fri May 21, 2021, 08:11 AM
May 2021

Today's Republican party is built on projection; every accusation is an admission (see Matt Gaetz). Add to this the following facts: They only demand to check the Dominion voting machines, but they're okay with the totals from the ES&S machines. The ES&S machines have been proven in the past to be easily hackable, unlike the Dominion ones. The ES&S totals don't match the exit polls, unlike the Dominion results, but we generally trust the polling in all other aspects of our lives and businesses. Therefore, it is very likely that the ES&S results are bogus, and the Republicans are hoping that, even if all the Dominion results are verified, the American public will say," Okay, all the voting machines are good," since they don't know about the different models being used. Then Republicans can happily go back to using the ES&S machines wherever they control the state government, and they will continue to dominate the House and Senate. They are playing hard ball in order to control the richest country in the world.
