I used to teach in a rural high school in a very small town for a few years. I was perpetually amazed at how many senior boys dated freshman girls year after year. I think its a control issue along with the fact that boys are so much more immature at that age that they couldnt maintain relationships with girls close to their own age. In a much larger district now and do not notice it nearly as much so maybe more of a small town phenomenon but somewhat disturbing I always felt.
